“Tres bon rapport qualité prix excellente situation a Dublin”
“Good hotel, great staff”
Overall we had a good experience at the Clarence. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, and was kind enough to allow us to check in early after our flight arrived in Dublin at 6am. The hotel is in an excellent location in Temple Bar, and it was easy to walk to all the major attractions in Dublin. The hotel itself seemed a little more run down than I expected, and our room - while comfortable and relatively spacious for Dublin standards - had a bit of an odor from time to time. Unfortunately were weren't able to stay long enough to experience some of the other amenities (hotel, bar, etc.) that the Clarence had to offer.
“Noisy”
my room was above the nightclub and the noisy level would wake the dead! I complained but the manager said the hotel was booked up and the noise could last till between 3am and 5am! they said they would "look after" me the following day and nothing happened. I emailed the hotel and I got no response! Never Again!
“great customer service A ++++”
I can not rate this hotel highly enough. I had a disaster on the morning we were leaving as I let my engagement ring slip down the sink hole and it was gone - the hotel were so helpful and organised a plumber straight away who came to the rescue. I cannot recommend them highly enough.
“Always great”
I love staying at the Clarence. The rooms are comfortable and the windows open. The location is grand.
“"Excellent hotel, really well located & superb staff"”
Arrived at the hotel from Dublin Airport (22 Euros) & greated at the Clarence by helpful & welcoming staff. Room 202 was spacious & overlooked the Liffy which was an aded bonus as we had heard that some rooms were a touch small. The room was very clean & tidy, though a little cold at times but otherwise fine. The location of the hotel is first class & only 2-3 minutes walk to Temple bar, the Cathedral & Dublin castle. Shopping is also right on the doorstep & in fact nothing is much more than a ten to fifteen minute walk away. The bars are incredible with an endless selection of live & talented Irish musicians. The barstaff are very friendly everywhere you go. If you are not enchanted by this place you never will be!! We had breakfast daily in the Clarence (approx 20 Euros pp) - slightly expensive, but worth it. You can find cheaper alternatives in the local bars, if your budget is a bit tight. All in all a great break & can't wait to go back.
“Lovely but Loud”
This hotel was great, although not spectacular. The only drawback to being in the heart of Dublin's Temple Bar area is that the hotel is situated directly next to a very loud club, whose bass we heard pumping techno dj music until 2 or 3 am. If you want a peaceful night's rest, either bring earplugs or go somewhere else. The amenities and everything else in our room were great. Nice towel warmer in the bathroom. The staff was very friendly and helpful in giving us directions all over the city and restaurant recommendations. And they let us leave our bags at the hotel the day we checked out for a while so we could go out and have lunch before we left the city. Very nice folks there.
“Can't wait to go back soon”
Hotel was excellent. Only complaint was we had a room at the side of the hotel and it was rather noisey from the open roof nightclub a few doors away which went on til early hours of the morning. Nothing to do with the hotel tho. Staff and everything was brilliant. In a great area right near pubs, resturants and city centre. Will definitley be going back again soon!!!
“Enjoyed Dublin and the Clarence Hotel”
I really enjoyed my stay in Dublin and the Clarence Hotel. I expected it to be a little more luxe consdiering it is owned by Bono, but it was nice. Right on the River Liffey in the heart of Dublin in the Temple Bar area. Our room was nice, toiletires and towels were nice, but no washcloths. Our room was supposed to be a supreme double, it was very simply decorated, with what seemed to be a queen sized bed. We had no view at all, which probably helped to keep our room quiet. Temple Bar gets very loud on weeeknds. The staff was great and very helpful. We arrived late at night and were allowed to use the concierge computer to book our tours for the next day.
