Very warm welcome, lovely clean property and on-suite shower room. Excellent food and service. Few minutes walk from beautiful Sandy beach and the same for all the shops. Couldn’t wish for a better location. Heather and Malcolm were lovely friendly people, nothing was too much trouble for them. Would highly recommend staying with them

All good
Malcolm and Heather are great hosts, welcoming and informative. Comfy beds, good shower, great breakfast. Very good location a minute walk to the sea front and a Great pub.

B&B in an excellent location near the beach and a short walk from the town. Guest house was very clean / hosts were lovely. Breakfast was really good.

A 2 night stay for a Birthday girl 11yrs. 2adults + 2 kids. 1 room. Noisy bunk beds. Great location to beach, amusements and town. Friendly hosts lots of information.

Wonderfully friendly B&B
Fabulous hosts at a lovely little B&B. They made every effort to welcome us, in particular my little 4 year old. As she was leaving she told them she loved them, which says a lot about how friendly they are. Breakfast was well cooked and delicious, a proper traditional fry-up. We had the bunk-bed room, which was a little small but we knew that before we visited, and we still felt comfortable in it. Would definitely come again if we were staying in the area.

1st visit to this little B&B in Paignton, booked in hotels.com Location is super in a small side road from the beach just 15 seconds to the sea Hosts were brilliant, even took note of what we liked ie saw I cut the fat off my bacon (not that there was much) so the next morning arrived my pre trimmed bacon that's not just good customer awareness that's great! Rooms were clean and tidy and spacious we were in room 7 No parking but they have the ability to give parking at the inn on the green car park for a discounted rate of 3.50 per day so a real bargain Hotel less than 1 minute to selection of restaurants and just a few mins flat walk to the shops Definitely recommend a visit Thanks garry and becky

Nice clean house and close to seafront and town,
Nigel and Christine very nice people and really helpful with local information and anything we needed during our stay even though we couldn't book in at 2pm it wasn't a big issue, nice clean hotel with a good breakfast.

We had 3 nights at this lovely place. The rooms were spotlessly clean and comfy. There was plenty of choice for breakfast which were very good. The owners are very helpful, friendly and welcoming and couldn`t do enough for you, and went out of there way to help us when my elderly father was taken ill one evening, something I will always appreciate

Pleasant stay
Had a pleasant stay there, the room is in perfect condition and it's 100% dust free. The proprietors are very knowledgeable about the area,and they are friendly once they get to know you. Nice breakfast, only serve between 830-900 but perfectly cooked. They are friendly but don't check in late. Apparently they have a before 9pm check in time which I know nothing about. We didn't get a welcome reception for checking in @10:20pm. That was a big mistake for travelling down from Oxford to Torquay on a Friday afternoon before bank holiday weekend. The only draw back was the thin wall between room and this is not very good for light sleeper. The pressure for shower on the top floor is weak. Overall it's a nice place to stay. I'm sure we will be greeted with smile next time we stay there.

Excellent, thoughtful owners. Highly recommended.
The owners went out of their way to make our stay successful. For example, when they saw we had multiple electronics devices to charge in our room they added an extra power strip to make it easier for us without us even asking them. When we had to leave to catch a train at 7:00am they got up at 6:30 to provide us a cold breakfast to send us on our way. Breakfast is usually at 8:30-9:00am so they went out of their way for us. We had an excellent stay and would recommend them to anyone. We will stay there again.

The owners were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast fantastic. Only issue was the use of a plastic mattress protector on our bed. This made for hot and sticky sleeping!!!!

Quality B&B
We thoroughly enjoyed out stay at Birklands. Made to feel so welcome by Nigel & Christine. Lovely room, spotlessly clean. The breakfast was lovely with a choice to suit everyone. The location is perfect for exploring the area with buses & trains literally around the corner We cannot recommend this enough and look forward to visiting again soon.

Wonderful stay.
The hosts here are so friendly, the area walking distance to the beach and eateries, the rooms very clean and beds comfortable. We had a little trouble with the new heat system, but I am sure it is sorted out now. Wonderful delicious breakfast. I highly recommend. We loved the restaurant they recommended to us also.

Great location, Great owners, Great stay!
We have just had our first stay in a guest house with our two young children (3+1yrs). Nigel & Christine made us feel very welcome in their lovely home. They were more than accommodating and very good with the children making them also feel very welcome. The Guest house was lovely and clean which was one less thing to have to think about with my 1yr old crawling around! I already have recommended Birklands to family and will continue to in the future. We hope to go back and stay again soon!

Great B&B place
Great hospitable service, nice clean rooms, conveniently near both Paignton bus/train station and the beach/pier. Would recommend to anyone - only small minus would be problems with WiFi signal (atleast in the room we were).
