Disappointed

Les + : Grounds are beautiful, pool is sparkling clean, beds and bedding are fabulous.
Les - : The restaurant- I think the only thing not frozen and then fried is the iceberg lettuce.
Situation : Lots of rock hound stuff in the area. There is also a very close vineyard.
I booked through Expedia and a smoking room was recommended so I booked. I then called the hotel and reminded them I had requested a courtyard view. I was told over the phone that this would not be a problem. When I got to the hotel, after seeing bill boards advertising 59.95 rooms, I was told that because I booked through Expedia those rates were unavailable, I would not get my courtyard view, and the staff was not willing to help. It seemed like they were upset I had not booked with them directly.

compliance issues with Expedia reservation

We stayed one night on our way to Las Vegas, and then again on our way home.... Our first night was not the best... I reserved 2 Queen beds, asked for 1st floor, accessible bathroom. We were given 1st floor, and the accessible bathroom, but only 1 Queen bed.. I was told that to move us to a 2 Queen bed would be $10.00 additional. I opted out....However.... On the return trip, I pointed out the reservation description where 2 Queens were in fact the reservation and the request for accessible bathroom and 1st floor... We were given our 2 beds, accessible bathroom and first floor... This is not the first time I have had hotels give me a hard time complying with the reservations. I would like to see Expedia and all the hotel sites establish a set of regulations in respect to compliance to the reservations.

Thank you for the review. Feedback from our guests so valuable to us. I am sorry there were challenges in the room type reserved. We do offer 3 different types of rooms with accessible bathrooms. All of them have full size bed or beds in them. The big difference is in the the bathrooms, roll in shower or larger bathroom with tub and extra handrails. I am checking into the room description so to be more clear to our guests the exact room type they are requesting is the one we are reserving for them. Great hotel, restaurant and cocktail lounge

Hotel was great. Free full breakfast every morning was excellent. Had dinner at hotel restaurant a couple times. Best spicy salsa using New Mexico chile that we found. I would stay here again.

Room was great and an excellent breakfast bar. Staff very friendly and helpful. Would go back for sure.

Les + : Everything.....from the staff, beds and the food.
Les - : Make more Quality Inns like Deming, NM's.
Situation : We were only there for the Rock Show. We did visit the antique store. It was a nice little town.
We really enjoyed our stay in Deming, NM's Quality Inn. Everyone was helpful and friendly. It had a wonderful, clean and good breakfast. It had the variety of foods like a regular restaurant. We have been recommending it to friends & strangers. They must have a great manager. The staff was the best ever. The young lady in the breakfast area was especially nice and helpful; as was the lady cooking in the back. They were really patient with some really picky guests. We will stay there again when we are on vacation. Judy & John

Older hotel has been updated somewhat

Les + : Friendly staff.
Les - : Better pillows.
Situation : Go see the lava bed in The Valley of Fires in Carrizozo and White Sands National Monument near Alamogordo.
I would say this was an average hotel. I was surprised to see that it was older, with doors opening to the outside, because on Expedia it has a 3-star rating - the highest rating among all the hotels in Santa Rosa. The obviously newer Holiday Inn and Hampton Inn only rated two and a half stars on Expedia. On the plus side, the staff was friendly and helpful. On our request, they kindly brought us extra comforters because it was difficult to get the room warm enough on the February night we stayed there. The pillows were small and somewhat lumpy, so I am glad I had some of my own in the car, as we were on a long road trip. All of the hotels in Santa Rosa are located on the same street- Pine Street, which runs parallel to the highway. So, no matter where you stay, road noise is going to be an issue. I was not feeling well, so was not able to enjoy the breakfast in their dining room, but my husband did, and said it was really nice. A waitress brings your drinks. He felt it was a classy experience, unlike most free breakfasts in hotels.

Thank you for the review --- one minor correction the name of our town is Deming NM on the Southern end of the state off I-10 and not Santa Rosa which is the Northern end off I-40. However based on what your wrote I do feel you are referring to our hotel as we do offer a great breakfast where servers bring you your beverages.

Quality Inn Deming: Good for sleeping -- not wkg.

Les + : Comfortable bed. Good shower. Typically tiny Quality Inn pillows, which I find uncomfortable. Trains went by all night but didn't sound whistles.
Les - : No work desk. Only a table which was badly lighted for working. There was one outlet in sight, but it was too far away for my laptop cord.
Situation : Hotel is at the far east end of the I-10 business route next to the freeway ramp. The town had adequate restaurants 5 minutes to the west.
I was on a photo road trip. A big snowstorm had just roared through this area, closing I-10 for a time. As always, I needed to work for an hour organizing my notes.

As a single woman traveling alone. I needed a place to stay just long enough to sleep and shower. I got a great deal, the front desk staff were great. I mistakenly booked a smoking room and she changed it with no cost and was very pleasant correcting my mistake.
