L’hotel est superbe, les chambres spacieuses et tres confortables. Par contre, la nourriture est loin d’etre a la hauteur...ils arrivent meme a vous rater un spaghetti, c’est dire.

Hello, Myself and my friend booked a 2 night stay with Expedia booking via Expedia. We booked a 4* as we expected a certain standard. When we arrived, we were shocked at the sullenness of the receptionist, Nicky. No smile, no greeting and only answering questions we asked. The room. We went to our room and below is a list of the discrace that followed: 1. I had requested twin bed and when we separated them, below was so much dirt, wrappers and fluff it was apparent it had not been vacumed for months. 2. The 2 lamp shades had cobwebs completing covering them. Andy the manager came and verified this. 3. The dust behind the bedsides had mildrew growing on it. It had not been dusted for months. 4.The bathroom drain system was not working so within 2 minutes of taking a shower, the bathroom was flooded. 5. The fan in the bathroom did not work. 6. The mug on the tea tray was chipped and cracked. 7. Bedside phone disappeared whilst we were out the first day. When this came up in conversation with the manager, he said " that was me, the room next door needed a phone so I came into your room and took your phone. What a disgrace. 8. The corridors had debris and rubbish from the day we arrived to the day we left. No cleaning or vacuuming had taken place. There is not enough space to give comprehensive details but would strongly advise against booking this hotel. It is not even a 1*

Hotel is a little dated room needed updating worn carpet chipped paint on walls, the spa is really great though really enjoyed that, breakfast was really tasty service was great couldn't fault house keeping.

Very friendly staff, nice atmosphere. Lovely property. Only drawback was the challenge of getting cases to our 1st floor room without a lift.

Anniversary weekend break
Overall it was an excellent hotel. Staff members were very friendly and helpful. Food was exceptional but could do with a few more choices of food. Room was very tidy

Nice place but lacking necessities
The positives first, lovely staff and spa. A comfy bed with good quality bedding, spotlessly clean. The negatives: first room was freezing cold. Moved to another where there was no heating in bathroom, room was ok but no windows, a couple of small roof lights, wouldn't class the place as 4 star. Prices for food do not match website prices, for £17 for a fish finger sandwich, you woulf expect some nice chunky fish in there, not slithers. Probably nicer to stay here in the summer when there is less need for hot water or heating.

We stayed for one night with our close friends, for husband's birthday. Property itself is very nice but considering the price, was disappointing to see wallpaper having been torn off the wall immediately.above headboard area. At bedtime we realised the bed duvet cover was torn/worn through in several areas too. Never had that before! Our friends said their room next door was cold and when he turned the radiator on, it leaked black liquid onto carpet. They used the fan heaters that had been put in the wardrobe, so we assume the management knew of this failing already. Our friends also had holey duvet cover, so generally linen needs inspection and replacing. This is not a budget hotel! needsDue to the fact that we arrived late afternoon for only one night, we decided not to make a fuss and enjoyed our meal in the restaurant. Next morning on check out, our friends mentioned the faulty radiator in their room but his comment was met with polite disinterest. The receptionist didnt even say that they'd get maintenance on it, so we are fairly certain theyd heard it all before. So if you are staying in rooms 30 and 31, look out for the torn wallpaper and dodgy radiator in one room! Hotel obviously needs some care and attention to detail in some areas.

Absolutely loved our stay. From start to finish it was perfect! The Christmas decorations were absolutely gorgeous as well. I’ll certainly be back!

we are returning guests and we, again, loved it now. We had the nice surprise to be permitted to use the SPA even after checking out. One heating radiatior did not fully work , so, it was a bit cold in the barthroom, but the bed was comfortable and the room

Lack of attention to detail
The service was excellent on check in and staff were friendly. The room was presentable and spacious but a little tired in places. The curtain was missing a few hooks so didn't meet in the middle, one of the bed side lamps didn’t work and the toilet didn’t flush very well and the shower didn’t drain quick enough. The radiator didn’t work in the room but there was a plug in heater available. There were tea and coffee making facilities available in the room but no biscuits. The breakfast was lovely in the morning, plenty of options available and staff were attentive. The spa area was ok for a leisurely swim before home, again a little tired in places, the jacuzzi area needs some attention, missing drainage covers all around it and bits left on the side. This hotel is lovely and relaxing but needs some attention to detail to be outstanding which is a massive shame.

This was our second stay here and each time was excellent. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the location is great for getting out and about. The decor is a little tired but this doesn’t effect the great service and amenities

Property was close to Chester stusent srea. Where my daughter studies. Very peaceful. Clean. Spa area was lovley. However, thought price was a tad high. Feel there needs to be a larger seating area for breakfast . Boiling hot water for tea. Overall i.enjoyed my expereince and would rebook

Friendly staff.. Although there is a warning in the rooms, only able to get a Luke warm bath and 2 cold showers. Unfortunately the Steam room was out of order and apparently had been for over a month. Cleanliness of the sauna and the pool leave a lot to be desired as there was rubbish left on poolside from the evening before and in the sauna.

Very poor experience
Very disappointed we upgraded the room that was poor torn wallpaper on the walls visible dust on curtains phots taken. Tv didn’t work properly it kept glitching. The eating area next to the bar was very cold .Lots of weird looking flies . Woken on Sunday morning at 8am by fire alarm but not fire. Very poor experience.

Lots of point to make here: 1. The building is falling apart 2. Hardly any staff around at all 3. The spa facilities were okay but someone had spat all over the sauna and it was really unclean 4. The male member of staff was drooling over my wife the entire time she was in the spa 5. The room and bathroom was filthy; cobwebs, stains, dead bugs splatted on the walls 6. No water pressure in the shower 7. We didn’t sleep all night because of house ridiculously noisy it was - staff on reception shouting at 3am 8. The swimming pool is used for kids lessons so make sure you check when you go Stayed here before (about 4 years ago) and it wasn’t this bad. Not the break we expected.

Some good some not so good .
Two night stay partly paid for by hotel.com/ Tesco points . Superior room was very spacious . Bathroom very big but mould on edges of bath and very slow at filling the bath . No cups / spoons etc when we arrived . So overall some good some bad but could be better for price you pay .

Do not stay
First time staying here and was very disappointed. Cobwebs on ceiling and dust as well as the windows hanging off. However what made this a disappointing stay was the bed. I had the worst night sleep ever. The bed was so hard and not comfortable at all.
