one night stay

Publié le 19 mars 2015
Les + : Friendly staff
Les - : Rooms were clean but could be slightly improved to give a warmer, cosier feel.
Exactly as you would expect from a 3 star hotel, staff were very friendly, lovely breakfast, over all pleasant one night stay.

Reasonable hotel

Publié le 17 mars 2015
Les - : Use a spirit level to make the rooms straight and not leaning!
We went for the cheapest room as we did not plan to spend much time there. As I had booked the small double I was expecting it to have no space at all so was surprised that there was a little more space than expected and we even had a sea view. The bathroom was simple and clean, as was the room. The only negative I had was that there was an obvious slant to the room so even laying down was a little strange as my feet were lower than my head! Minor detail though, for a one night stay it was fine.

Decaying Hotel on Decaying Seafront

Publié le 3 mars 2015
Les + : But the hotel has a good location directly opposite the beach.
Les - : Exterior of the hotel needs maintenance including new windows to stop the wind blowing through the room.
Situation : Beach is just across the road and bars/restaurants are within walking distance (but the same can be said for most hotels as Brighton centre is small)
Not a good experience ... water from the shower upstairs dripping through the ceiling and running down the wall of our room, cheap mattresses = sore back, bad breakfast, expensive and overpriced (but it was a Saturday night) .... avoid!

Good location, hotel room a little dated

Publié le 22 févr. 2015
The location of the hotel is good. We had a double room with en suite which was quite small. The bed was very soft and the most annoying thing was that we were next to the lift and you can hear it squeaking through the wall day and night. The rooms decor was a bit dated - it could do with a lick of paint for sure.

Friendly hotel on the sea front

Publié le 20 févr. 2015
Great location, on the sea front. Have stayed here before. The room was slightly bigger than last time, so good. Lovely and clean room. Comfortable temperature throughout the night. Staff friendly, nothing too much bother. Great breakfast, plenty of tea and coffee. All in all another pleasant stay. Would recommend to friends and family.

Lovely helpful staff

Publié le 19 févr. 2015
Les + : Staff. View. Food.
Les - : Bit draughty in places (in bedrooms).
Situation : Good location - near enough to town but far enough away from all the noise.
We stayed for three nights and found the hotel very good for several reasons. Firstly the staff could not have been more helpful - for a small hotel there was a good sized team and everyone was cheerful and properly friendly. The breakfasts were very good and, as a member of our party was unwell, we ate in the restaurant at lunch and dinner too (hardly anyone else does) and it was quite nice - like a private restaurant with a sea view. It is not the fanciest hotel in town but lots of the basics were good - good shower in our room, for example, and no problems with wifi. It was mostly quiet at night but even on the one noisy night staff were dealing with noisy guests (often not the case elsewhere). We had a really good stay and as it had been quite a bargain stay this was excellent all round. Lots of places to eat nearby too - especially Lion and Lobster up the road.
