Les + : The classic charm
Les - : Room service lack a little attention to detail, forgot to bring bread with soup, forgot butter with bread, forgot salt and pepper but food was good
Situation : Not enough time to explore
This is the perfect hotel for a weekend retreat. The room was superb, classic high ceilings true to Georgian style,. and very spacious. The only negative was that there was an 18th birthday party being held on the evening of our arrival, and this did cause some noise in the corridors during the evening. However I would definitely recommend this hotel and I enjoyed my stay. .

Anniversary stay

Lovely hotel, comfortable room, gardens are beautiful. Stayed for our 10th wedding anniversary, close to Bray where we went for dinner. Would stay again and recommend

Good hotel in a nice location

Lovely stay to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary, although I had left a note saying it was the first time we had returned to the hotel since our reception there 25 years ago and there was nothing done to celebrate that fact which was disappointing. Everything else was good, rooms, food was very nice but it has one of those ridiculously quite dining rooms that means you have to whisper to your dinner date. Please some reasonable music and we can all relax. Drinks at the bar were expensive tins rather than cask ales and seemed a little tacky for such a nice hotel.

Beautiful hotel

I took my son to this hotel for a two day stay at this beautiful hotel,,,, the staff couldn't have been more welcoming and went above and beyond,,, the room was immaculate and the bed extremely comfortable, we had our evening meal at the restaurant and the food was sublime, special thanks to magda who especially made our stay very welcoming

Mixed experience at Taplow House

This was s very mixed experience - lovely location and setting but placed a back room with no view. Superb food but thr bedroom carpet had big stains on it and the wifi did not work in the room.

Disappointing Service and Food

The good - great location, just off the A4 close to Maidenhead, Windsor, Slough and Heathrow. The house is lovely, and the grounds are very nice and peaceful. Has a strong British feel The not so good - no elevator so have to lug the bags up to the rooms. I think they should automatically carry bags, I did get an offer of help but it was very off handed. Room was nice, heater in room took a bit of getting used to. The really not good at all - service in general. Called for room service and took over 3 mins for the staff to answer, then had to repeat the order three times. Was told it would be 20 mins, called at 20 mins said would be a few more mins. In fact arrived after 35 mins and cold. Asked at breakfast if I wanted coffee or tea, asked for tea and got coffee (how hard can that be)? One cleaner pushed past me in the hallway somewhat rudely. Horrid breakfast - selection was either bland buffet or heart attack fried. I fancied something in between so ordered eggs benedict which advertised as containing bacon. In fact it had a slice of ice cold boiled ham, and not particularly nice ham at that. Half an English muffin, poached egg, lack luster ham = GPB 18.50. Hm. Room service food was very mediocre as well. Would not go back. The location and grounds are great but the staff are disinterested at best.
